NewsLatest News Tardisc XL is our own brand of ISMN 60mg. Tardisc XL has been made available at £3.50 which is significantly lower than both the tariff and other brands.
The tariff is at £10.50 which means that generically written scripts can be filled with any brand that the pharmacy wish to dispense. NB (ISMN 60mg only exist as brands, there are no generic versions) The costs of these brands can vary (£4.32 - £22.45) meaning that the generic prescription is not ‘costed’ until that choice is made by pharmacy. It cannot cost more than £10.50 and as this reflects the brand leader, that is often the cost to the prescribing budget. We hope that in this age of austerity Tardisc XL will make a significant difference to PCT costs in relation to ISMN 60mg prescribing. We do not promote any of our products to GPs. Viepax XL Tablets (Venlafaxine XL) 75mg and 150mg are available for PCT prescribing from 1st Jan 2009.
Simvador Tablets
We have changed the formulation and upgraded the packaging of Simvador Tablets into calendar packs to aid patient compliance with effect from November 2008. In addition we have launched a new strength of 80mg Simvador Tablets in January 09 (PL 20092/0015). Full details of the changes for Simvador Tablets are provided below:

The following excipients are contained in the new formulation but not in the original:
10mg - Citric Acid Monohydrate, Ascorbic Acid, Iron Oxide Red, Iron Oxide Yellow
20mg -Citric Acid Monohydrate, Ascorbic Acid, Iron Oxide Red, Iron Oxide Yellow, Iron Oxide Black
40mg-Citric Acid Monohydrate, Ascorbic Acid, Iron Oxide Red, Iron Oxide Black
Although the excipients in the formulations are slightly different patients should not experience any change in therapeutic effect. The amount of the drug substance remains the same.

Discovery Pharmaceuticals has switched, as an own label supplier for Simvador tablets, from PL 11204/0152, PL 11204/0153, PL 11204/0154 held by Genus Pharmaceuticals to PL 20092/0012, PL 20092/0013, PL 20092/0014 held by Lupin (Europe) Limited.

In Jan 2008 we launched the third and final strength of Felotens Tablets (Felodipine). Felotens 2.5mg tablets compliments the existing range which now has all three strengths, 2.5mg, 5mg and 10mg.
